Edward Ullendorff né en 1920 est un académicien (FBA) britannique juif, et une autorité sur les langues sémitiques et l'Éthiopie. Il est à présent professeur émérite à la School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), collège de l'université de Londres où il est professeur d'études éthiopiennes ainsi que des langues sémitiques. Il était précédemment conférencier sur les langues sémitiques à l'université de St Andrews et professeur spécialisé sur l'Ethiopie à l'université d'Oxford.
