Teratoscincus roborowskii est une espèce de gecko terrestre au corps assez massif, de couleur grise avec des points sombres (bruns ou noirs). Les écailles sont assez apparentes. La queue est massive.
Cet animal était précédemment considéré comme étant une sous-espèce de Teratoscincus scincus, puis a été élevé au rang d'espèce en 1997 (par Macey et al.).
