Early color photograph from Russia, created by Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii as part of his work to document the Russian Empire from 1909 to 1915.
A locomotive type Ab-132, later reclassified as V-51 (Аб-132, позднее В-51 -- cycillic characters) with a Schmidt boiler on the railroad between Perm and Ekaterinburg in the Ural Mountain region in the far eastern part of European Russia.

The Russian Federation (early RSFSR, Soviet Russia) is only historical heir but not legal successor of the Russian Empire[1][2]. The Russian Empire wasn't a participant in international copyright agreements, so this work is not protected by copyright internationally. If it is possible - use {{PD-Russia-2008}} or {{PD-old}} instead of this tag. |
