Représentation schématique des différents types d'interaction entre les protéines membranaires polytopiques et la membrane cellulaire:

  1. interaction par une hélices α hydrophobe transmembranaire (protéine membranaire bitopique);
  2. interaction par plusieurs hélices α hydrophobes transmembranaires;
  3. interaction par un tonneau β transmembranaires (soit plusieurs brins β transmembranaires);

la membrane est représentée en brun clair.

chematic representation of the different types of interaction between monotopic membrane proteins and the cell membrane:

  1. interaction by a single transmembrane hydrophobic α-helix (bitopic membrane protein);
  2. interaction by several transmembrane hydrophobic α-helices;
  3. interaction by a transmembrane β barrel (i.e. several transmembrane β strands);

The membrane is represented in light brown.
