Le phalanger matanim (Phalanger matanim; en anglais: The Telefomin Cuscus) est un couscous de Nouvelle-Guinée.
Il doit son nom au groupe ethnique guinéen Telefol qui connaissait l'animal bien avant qu'il soit identifié par le zoologiste australien Tim Flannery.
Il vivait dans les forêts de chênes le long de la rivière Nong au centre de la Papouasie Nouvelle-Guinée à une altitude comprise entre 1500 et 2000 m.
Après la sècheresse et les feux de forêts de 1997, ces forêts ont été détruites et on pense que l'animal a ainsi disparu.
