Naqsh-i Rustam (Iran). Relief rupestre représentant l'investiture d'Ardashir Ier Papakan par le dieu Ahura Mazda. Le cheval d'Ahura Mazda, dieu de la lumière et du bien, piétine le cadavre d'Ahriman, dieu des ténèbres et du mal, tandis que celui du roi Ardashir piétine le cadavre du dernier roi parthe arsacide Artaban V. Vers 230. Photo Ginolerhino 2002. This is absolutely false. Nagsh-i Rustam is near Persepolis and the tomb of several of the achaemenian kings whereas Sassanid Kings base was in Mesopotamia. This picture is a picture of a covenant between two dynasties where a Sassanid kings comes to visit the Achemanian kings. The horseman's figure on the right is a depiction of the Achaemenian king using the Achaemanian's depiction of kings as represented in Persopolis and the horseman on the left is a depiction of Sassanid king(in the Sassanid's time's style of the art), exchanging the ring of covenant.
