030711-N-5319H-001 Naval Support Activity Mid-South (11 July 2003) – The Memphis Belle B-17 "Flying Fortress" stands disassembled in its hangar across from Naval Support Activity Mid-South, where volunteer mechanics, mainly employees of Federal Express, come in on weekends to begin the long task of refurbishing the aircraft. The Memphis Belle is one of the first B-17 crews to complete 25 daylight bombing raids over Germany and occupied Europe during World War II. U.S. Navy photo by Susan Hyback. (RELEASED)
