Lydia Lunch (née Lydia Koch le 2 juin 1959 à Rochester, É.-U. est une chanteuse, poètesse, écrivain, et actrice. Victime d'inceste, elle quitte à seize ans le foyer familial pour connaitre la rue et les bas-fonds de New York: alcool, drogue et prostitution. On la remarque pour la première fois comme "cri primal" au sein du groupe Teenage Jesus and the Jerks sur l'album anthologique de Brian Eno paru en 1977: No New York considéré comme un pilier fondateur du mouvement No Wave. Egérie du mouvement Underground et No Wave new-yorkais, auteure d'une trentaine d'albums, a également enregistré avec Sonic Youth et Nick Cave, a publié en collaboration avec Exene Cervenka l'album "Rude Hieroglyphics". Actrice dans le cinéma underground, elle a participé à de nombreux films. Ayant élu domicile à Barcelone, elle continue de se produire sur scène surtout en Europe.
