This page is for requests to usurp accounts that already exist. If you want your account renamed to a name that is not already taken, please see Wikipédia:Demande de renommage de compte utilisateur.

This page permits users to request, and bureaucrats to consider and carry out, the "usurpation" of usernames. This consists of renaming an existing dormant account in order to permit another user to adopt the name.

Given the current limitation of Single User Login, do not ask for the renaming of an unused account to take the name over if you have already began the procedure for SUL, ask for an un-merging at m:Steward requests/SUL requests before trying again If the name you want correspond to an account with only few or old contributions, an usurpation may be granted. If the name is that of an activ user, please seek an agreement between you.

To add a request, use {{subst:Renommer mon compte|former name of account|wished name|reason}} ~~~~ Requests made by IP may be ignored or asked for confirmation on home wiki of the user.

Thank you CK and EF, the SUL was successful. In fact you do not have to worry about the move, there is no need to involve a steward in SUL: you rename the old account in question ([old] grin to utilisateur0001 or whatever) and when this is done I can simply activate my grin account by simply logging in.
